I never graduated from Pets...I think my brother's antics got us tossed after my 4th grade year. Anyway, live in southern Indiana... spent 17 years in the newspaper business as a reporter, editor and later as editor and director of Web operations. Today I am "E-Technology Leader" for General Electric, where I manage corporate Intranet technologies. My wife, Kim, and I have adopted five children with another on the way. With our own two, that makes a round eight. Our adoption stories are online at http://www.courierpress.com/features/adopt/

Married 11 yrs. to Marc. Three great kids. Still working as a nurse when I can. At school all the time as room-mom, computer instructor and general volunteer. The big birthday numbers are creeping up on me so I started a bowling league with 60 people so I could act more like my parents! It's a gas though and we are desperate to get out more (I'm sure a lot of you can relate)! We call our league the "holy- rollers" but not much praying is done! See how exciting motherhood is! But of course I wouldn't change it! Hope everyone is well and happy!

Steve, I got your note and laughed right away about cruising
around with Jane Streitberger, I know exactly the incident that
you are referring to. Any way, I don't see her much but
have spoken to her recently after many years, she is doing
fine. I'm glad you are doing something via the Internet,
it's probably the best way to correspond. Hope all is well, I'm
doing great and my husband and three children are doing great as
well. I'm sorry I missed you at the Glenbard West Reunion
last fall. We looked for you, I saw Joanne and Debbie and
Karen Keating, and Aubuchon. We even took a St. Pet's
picture....Where the Hell were you? [ Steve: At the
Francis reunion!] I do have a picture from Debbie Doyle
Zablock, just saw her yesterday at the Wheaton library, she's due
any day with number three!
After St. Pet's, I went on to Glenbard West High School, a
breathe of fresh air after Catholic school for eight years.
Owning my first real pair of Levi's was an absolute dream come
true. After High School, I worked, taught classes, (still
do), and went to College of DuPage for my Associates. Then
I went on to Northern to finish my Bachelor's Degree in
Elementary Education. Met my husband Kevin in '85. We
were married in '88 and bought our first home in Glen
Ellyn. Our first son was born there in March of '91.
We moved to Wheaton and have been here ever since and have added
two more children, Matt who is 6 and Nicole who is 4. We
are very active, our boys are into hockey, scouts and every sport
in the current season. Our daughter is into ballet and we
are very active with school events, Room Mom, P.T.A. etc.
We are very happy and are busy watching our children grow.
It would be nice to see everyone again. I missed the last
reunion at Bolger's due
to morning sickness (Nicole).

In a nutshell...After graduating from St. Pets I attended Marmion Military Academy (by choice) where I lived for a year before begging my parents to let me come back home. Due to the fact that that Benet Academy was our arch rival and that I was a stubborn kid, my parents gave in to sending me to St. Francis instead of Benet where my brothers and sisters had been going. Three wonderful years later I graduated and attended College of Dupage for two years before getting into sales. I had been working since I was twelve and thought nothing of continuing with that m.o. instead of going away to school. I knew that I made the right choice when my M.D. and C.P.A. older brother and sister came to me for money to get a start on their journey into the working world. Along with my sales position for a real estate services company I had been buying and rehabbing houses. When my company was bought out I thought it was time that I cut the cord and go out on my own. I continued to rehab houses and eventually fulfilled my dream of building custom homes in the western suburbs, which is what I am still up to today. My company, Ladesic & Scott Builders, is still based in Glen Ellyn and has grown into a fairly respected company specializing in period reproduction homes and renovations (www.ladesicandscott.com). I am married to Lori and have three children, including twins. (updated 3/23/04)

After graduating from St. Pet's and Glenbard West, I studied economics at SIU-Carbondale and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. I married John English in 1983 and have three children. I received a Ph.D. in economics along the way and have been teaching economics at DePauw University since 1988. Life in Greencastle Indiana is great. Between work and watching our kids play sports, we enjoy living in the country and spending time with friends. I have only been to Glen Ellyn once in twenty years and the town, church and school looked great.

Mr. Pilarski (fourth grade teacher) - read the exchange between Steve and Mr. P.
Came across your web site and read what the class of '75 are
doing. It brought back many great memories. Thanks.

Mr. P!
Whoa . . . long time. Do you still have all those fat ties you
got every Christmas?
Do you remember the "play week" experiment you did back
in '71 or so, where we had no structured classes for one week and
we could do anything we wanted? Can you explain what that was
about? Did you write a paper on that, or was it something you
just pitched to the administration?
I'd love to put an update about you on the Web site, "After
I left St. Pet's . . . "
Thanks for checking in.
Steve
Steve,
That "play week" was an experiment. The faculty had
visited one of the Geln Ellyn Public Schools that was
experimenting with an "open classroom" type of
education. We tried it for one week. It only took that long for
us to realize that that was not the way St. Pet's was going to
teach.
I got rid of those "fat" ties many years ago. I only
had to wear a tie in one job I have had since leaving St. Pet's.
BTW, I keep in touch with Mrs. Ceraso. She and her husband are
living in Connecticut. I also kept in touch with Sr. Marcian up
until a few years ago. I don't know where she disappeared to.
You can probably use the following update. However, look it over
and edit where you think it should be edited.
After I left St. Pet's in 1979 I was out of work for a few months
but found a job with Standard Oil as an audiovisual librarian (I
received my MSLS in library science while I was teaching at St.
Pet's). Also at that time I met my "husband" and we
have been together over 27 years. After one year (boredom at
Standard Oil), I got a job with the American Dental Association
as the Head of Indexing. I was there for seven years. During that
time, I was also elected the National Secretary of Dignity/USA
(the national gay/lesbian Catholic organization) and held the
position for four years. In 1988, I took a job as Librarian with
the US Army Corps of Engineers and worked there until the end of
1999. At the beginning of 2000, I started as Medical Librarian
with the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. I will be
retiring next year. I have traveled all over the United States,
Japan, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Florence and Rome. Next year
will probably be China and Hong Kong. I have also taken up the
hobby of quilting and teach it at one of the local quilt shops. I
am very involved with my local quilt guild, currently serving as
the VP of Contracts.

Isn't the internet amazing? I signed up on your site for a password and would love to be a part of the Cyber Reunion. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Management. Moved to Southern California with a few friends in 1986. Shortly after moving to CA met my future husband and we married in 1992. I have three children, and needless to say I stay busy. I am looking forward to seeing the photos on the site.

After leaving St. Pet's, I attended GW, graduating in '79. I completed my degree in Psychology from Loyola University in '83 and went on to earn a Master's degree in Counseling. I got married to John Sier in '85. We moved to the Detroit area in '86 and have lived here ever since. I worked for a management consulting firm for a number of years but have been a stay-at-home mom since our second child was born in '97. It has been a while since I have been in Glen Ellyn as my folks moved to Florida about six years ago. Hope everyone is doing great!

Update: Been in the Navy for the last 22 years. I have
attained the rank of Chief and I'm currently assigned to HSL-45
in San Diego. I have served aboard the carriers USS Kitty Hawk,
USS Abraham Lincoln, and USS Carl Vinson. Been to the
Persian Gulf so many times I think I should own property there.
Served during Desert Sheild and Desert Storm. Married Diane R.
Miller and have been married for 15 years now. Diane is also in
the Navy. Proudest moment was flying
Search and Rescue while stationed in Guam. I participated in the
rescue of nine people in two separate rescues from sinking
vessels. Fortunately I became a San Diego Padres fan since
getting here way back when, which has enabled me to see two more
World Series than I would have seen had I been a Cubs fan.
